What does this mean for gaming in the coming years? Well, for starters, it has the potential to bridge the gap between the “PC Master Race” and those who simply are not. While Mac titles through digital stores such as Steam have been releasing what are single player games (X-Com 2 and Slime Rancher for example), the recent trend seems to be towards the online multiplayer arena with titles such as The Elder Scrolls Online and Counter Strike-Strike: Global Offensive breaking through to untapped demographics. Steam, extending the digital olive branch to gamers regardless of how ridiculous their beards look, is doing an admirable job thus far of giving Mac users a chance to partake. It’s no secret that Mac users (and their setups) are not typically geared towards more graphically intense games out there (I’m looking at you Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1). ![]()
